OWNER'S MANUAL FOR DAZE POWER DIESEL GENERATOR - WELDER (MODEL)
1. INTRODUCTION
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the DAZE POWER TO400A Diesel Generator - Welder. It is essential to read and understand this manual thoroughly before operating the equipment to ensure personal safety and prevent damage to the machine. The TO400A is a versatile unit designed for both welding and power generation applications, suitable for construction sites, field operations, and emergency power supply.
2. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
2.1 Personal Protection
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a welding helmet with a proper shade lens, flame - retardant clothing, heat - resistant gloves, and safety shoes when operating the equipment.
Protect your eyes and skin from welding arcs, sparks, and UV radiation. Ensure bystanders are at a safe distance or also equipped with PPE.
2.2 Electrical Safety
The generator - welder must be properly grounded to prevent electric shock. Use a grounding rod of sufficient length and diameter as specified in local electrical codes.
Do not touch live electrical parts. Keep the equipment dry and avoid operating it in wet conditions unless it is specifically designed for such environments.
Inspect welding cables and power cords regularly for damage. Replace any frayed, cracked, or worn cables immediately.
2.3 Fire and Explosion Prevention
Operate the unit in a well - ventilated area to prevent the accumulation of flammable gases and fumes. Keep the area around the equipment clear of combustible materials.
Do not refuel the engine while it is running or hot. Allow the engine to cool down completely before refueling.
Use only approved fuel containers and store fuel in a safe, well - ventilated location away from the operating area.
2.4 Mechanical Safety
Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from moving parts such as the engine fan, belt, and welding electrode holder during operation.
Do not modify or tamper with safety devices, such as the oil pressure switch, temperature sensor, or emergency stop button.
Secure the equipment properly during transportation to prevent it from tipping over or shifting.
4. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Upon receiving the unit, inspect the packaging for damage. Open the package and check that all components are included as per the packing list.
Inspect the generator - welder for any visible damage during transportation. Report any issues to the supplier immediately.
4.2 Site Preparation
Choose a level, stable surface for installation. Ensure there is at least 1 meter of clearance around the unit for proper ventilation and maintenance.
If operating indoors, ensure adequate ventilation to remove exhaust gases. Use a suitable exhaust pipe extension to direct fumes outside.
4.3 Cable Connection
Welding Cables: Connect the welding electrode holder to the positive (+) terminal and the workpiece clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the welding output, or vice versa depending on the welding process and electrode type. Use welding cables of appropriate size (minimum 50mm² copper cable for 50 - meter length) to minimize voltage drop.
Power Cables: For power generation, connect the load to the generator output terminals using appropriate power cables and plugs. Ensure the load does not exceed the generator's rated power.
5. OPERATION PROCEDURES
5.1 Pre - operation Inspection
Fuel System: Check the fuel level in the tank (should be at least 50%). Ensure the fuel valve is open and there are no fuel leaks.
Lubrication System: Check the engine oil level using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the dipstick.
Cooling System: Inspect the coolant level in the radiator and expansion tank. Add coolant if necessary.
Electrical System: Check the battery connections for tightness and corrosion. Ensure the battery is fully charged.
Mechanical Inspection: Inspect all bolts, nuts, and clamps for tightness. Check the air filter for dirt and damage.
5.2 Engine Starting
Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
Set the engine choke to the "START" position (for cold starts only).
Turn the ignition key to the "START" position and release it once the engine starts. Allow the engine to idle for 2 - 3 minutes to warm up.
Gradually move the choke to the "RUN" position as the engine warms up.
5.3 Welding Operation
Select the appropriate welding mode (CC - constant current for manual metal arc welding) on the control panel.
Adjust the welding current using the current regulator knob. The current range is 60 - 180A for the low range and 120 - 400A for the high range.
Connect the welding electrode to the electrode holder and the workpiece clamp to the workpiece.
Start welding by striking an arc between the electrode and the workpiece. Maintain a steady arc length and travel speed for optimal weld quality.
Do not switch the current range selector while welding, as this may damage the switch or electrical components.
5.4 Power Generation Operation
Ensure the welding output is disconnected or turned off.
Connect the load to the generator output terminals. Ensure the load is within the generator's rated power capacity.
Turn on the generator output switch on the control panel. Monitor the voltage and frequency meters to ensure stable power output.
5.5 Shutdown Procedures
Disconnect the welding electrode and workpiece clamp, or turn off the generator output switch.
Allow the engine to idle for 3 - 5 minutes to cool down.
Turn the ignition key to the "STOP" position to shut down the engine.
Close the fuel valve to prevent fuel leakage during storage.
6. MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
6.1 Daily Maintenance
Check the fuel level and refill if necessary.
Inspect the engine oil level and top up if required.
Clean the air filter element if it is dirty.
Inspect the welding cables and power cords for damage.
6.2 50 - Hour Maintenance
Change the engine oil and oil filter.
Clean the fuel filter.
Inspect the cooling system for leaks and top up coolant if needed.
Check the tightness of all belts and adjust if necessary.
6.3 100 - Hour Maintenance
Replace the air filter element.
Inspect the spark plugs (for gasoline engines) or injectors (for diesel engines).
Check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean if necessary.
Inspect the welding transformer and other electrical components for signs of overheating or damage.
6.4 Long - term Storage
Drain the fuel from the tank and fuel lines.
Change the engine oil and filter.
Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Charge the battery periodically during storage.
Cover the unit with a protective cover to prevent dust and moisture accumulation.
